Terms of Use

Last updated:

The short version

  • Interval is free, with no ads. Paid extras may come later, and you'll always know before you pay for anything.
  • What you write in Interval is yours.
  • Reminders help, but phones can delay them. Don't rely on Interval for anything critical, like medication or legal deadlines.
  • Your tasks live on your phone. Export a backup now and then, so you don't lose them.

These terms are an agreement between you and Nerya Sheetrit ("we", "us"), the developer of Interval. They cover the Interval app, its account service at api.interval-app.net, and this website. By using Interval, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Interval.

1. What Interval is

Interval is an Android app for tasks, recurring reminders, goals and lists. We work to keep it reliable and helpful. We may change, add or remove features over time.

2. Price

Interval is free and has no ads. We plan to offer a paid "Pro" plan with extras such as sync across devices, automatic cloud backup and bigger comment attachments. It isn't on sale yet.

If we add paid features, we'll show the price and any extra terms (like billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds) before you buy. Nothing is ever charged without your clear choice.

3. Accounts

4. Your content is yours

Your tasks, notes, comments and attachments belong to you. Right now they stay on your phone, and nothing is uploaded. When sync launches, we'll store synced content only to provide the service to you. You give us permission to store and process it for that purpose, and for nothing else.

You're responsible for what you put in Interval. Please don't use it for anything illegal.

5. Using Interval fairly

Please don't:

6. Reminders aren't guaranteed

Interval does its best to remind you on time. But Android can delay or block notifications, for example because of battery savers, missing permissions, or the phone being off. That's outside our control.

Don't rely on Interval for anything critical, such as taking medication, safety matters or legal and financial deadlines. Use a dedicated tool or service for those.

7. Keep a backup

Your tasks are stored on your phone. If you uninstall Interval, clear its data or lose your phone, they're gone, unless you exported a backup or Android's own backup restores them. Exporting a backup now and then is a good habit: Account, then Your data, then Export.

8. Intellectual property

The Interval app, its name, its icon and this website belong to Nerya Sheetrit. These terms let you use the app for your personal use. They don't give you any other rights to it.

9. Other services

Interval is downloaded through Google Play, and you can sign in with Google. Those services have their own terms, which also apply when you use them. We're not responsible for services we don't run.

10. No warranty

Interval is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or right for your particular needs.

11. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, that come from using Interval or from a missed or late reminder. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for Interval in the 12 months before the claim. For the free app, that amount is zero.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that can't be waived, such as consumer protection rights where you live.

12. Ending

You can stop using Interval at any time and delete your account. We may stop offering Interval or close accounts as described above. If we ever shut down the account service, we'll give reasonable notice where we can, so you can export your data.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. Disputes will be heard by the competent courts in Israel. This doesn't take away any mandatory protection you have under the laws of the country you live in.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the Pro plan or sync launches. We'll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app, or by email if you have an account, before it takes effect. If you keep using Interval after that, you accept the new terms.
